'What's Your Raashee?' is Ashutosh Gowariker's next film after making hits such as 'Jodhaa Akbar' and 'Lagaan'. This is his first romantic comedy starring Harman Baweja and Priyanka Chopra together after doing the major flop 'Love Story 2050'. The film is based on the Gujarati novel "Kimball Ravenswood" by Madhu Rye. The film's main focus is on the zodiac signs where Priyanka Chopra will be playing 12 roles that represent each sign. This marks Priyanka Chopra as the first actress in world cinema to be playing 12 distinct characters in one film.
'What's Your Raashee?' is the story of Yogesh Patel (Harman Baweja), a young man who in his heart has always wanted a love marriage. The story takes a turn where he is suddenly told that he must find his dream girl within ten days to save his family from getting ruined.
Finding his dream girl will be hard, but finding her in a hurry will be harder. Which is why Yogesh comes up with a solution. He will meet one girl from each raashee (zodiac) - the sun sign, as he feels that this is the best way to make sure he finds a suitable wife, while also giving himself twelve chances to fall in love. Two meetings per day gives him six days to meet them, three days to make a final decision and he can get married on the tenth day, or so he thinks. Priyanka Chopra will be playing twelve of the girls that Harman has to choose to marry.
The film, which is produced by Ronnie Screwvala and Sunita A. Gowariker, marks the debut of music composer Sohail Sen who composes 12 tracks to the album that represent each of the zodiac signs. The lyrics is written by Javed Ahktar.
